As I understand it, it was the municipality of North Hatley that installed this small dock equipped with boat guards at the federal dock. This was necessary because when you launch your boat from the federal descent, mooring on concrete curbs presents a significant risk of damaging your boat and injuring yourself. As soon as the wind picks up, boats are at risk of hitting the federal descent. Of course, buoys are essential for mooring, but with this little boat dock, boats are protected and it’s easier for passengers to get on and off. The same applies to kayaks and paddleboards.
Above all, when you’re on your own to take your boat down to the lake, you need to tie up properly, since you have to leave again to park your trailer. This little dock makes it easy to tie up, get off safely and protect your boat from the waves.
A very good initiative on the part of the municipality. Well done!
