Thanks to the citizens who sent me aerial photos of the village of North Hatley from the 1958-1959. It’s spectacular to see the village of North Hatley at that time. You can clearly see the railroad crossing the river and continuing along the shore of Lake Massawippi. You can make the connection with the pedestrian bridge, which was originally a railway bridge.

The photos don’t show it clearly, as the distance is great, but you can see the municipal landfill. You can see the North Hatley marina building, probably in better condition than it is today. The building would therefore be almost 125 years old. You can also clearly see the Pilsen building and the garage that became the Vilandré microbrewery. Note that there is also a large building between the two bridges. What’s it all about? If you know, let us know in the comments.
By the way, feel free to send me photos and material about North Hatley’s history so I can talk about it. I’d love to hear from you!
