Following the non-renewal of the intermunicipal recreation agreement, a press release from the Township of Hatley dated July 9 officially announced a 50% refund for access to Pleasant View Beach in North Hatley for its citizens.
As a resident of the Township of Hatley, you must request your receipt from the municipality of North Hatley to obtain a refund. The refund is available for up to $150 on a season pass or 10 daily beach passes. You must collect your receipts to obtain your refund.
In its press release, the Township of Hatley recommends that its citizens use the Ayer’s Cliff beach. This beach belongs to the surrounding municipalities and remains free of charge, unlike the North Hatley beach. In addition, the Township of Hatley offers incentives, including a 50% refund on the cost of your parking pass upon presentation of your receipt.
Be sure to submit your reimbursement request to the Township of Hatley before December 31, 2025, i.e., in the same calendar year as your registration. This is important because it will allow the Township of Hatley to manage its budget effectively! Anyone who manages their budget well doesn’t want to receive bills two or three years later!
IMPORTANT: You must send your refund request to the municipal office or by email to Ms. Annie Deshaies at admin@cantondehatley.ca. A check will then be sent to you by mail.
On that note, enjoy your swim despite the cold shower!
