Education

I hold a technical degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Sherbrooke. I also began a master’s degree in e-commerce, which I put on hold due to the rapid growth of my business. In addition, I completed training in artificial intelligence at MIT to stay on the cutting edge of emerging technologies and understand the issues related to AI models.

Entrepreneurial journey

In 2007, I founded my first information technology company, which is still active today, nearly 20 years later. Under its leadership, several projects have been launched and are still active, including:

  • a 3D design platform;
  • a unified cloud telephony solution (UCaaS);
  • self-service item rental software, the basis of the Navigo project.

Experience in financial management

For over 20 years, I have been working with recognized professional auditors to ensure the accuracy of my accounting and the interpretation of my financial statements and balance sheets.

I have also taken private courses in accounting and financial analysis to improve my management skills. Financial management is an integral part of my daily business practice.

Leadership and growth

From 2015 to 2021, Bestar Inc. (Lac-Mégantic) acquired 49% of my company.
I was then appointed executive vice president, responsible for developing the e-commerce division.

Under my leadership, the company built a team of nearly 40 professionals, experienced sustained growth, and established itself as an innovative player in its sector. In 2021, I bought back my shares to continue my entrepreneurial journey independently.

Projects and Innovation

Many members of my team worked at 135 Main Street—the former town hall of the Township of Hatley—which was acquired in 2016. With the pandemic transforming the way we work, I converted the building into a modern rental cottage, while preserving its community and entrepreneurial spirit.

Community engagement and social innovation

I believe that society has given me a lot, and I have always sought to give back.
Alongside my entrepreneurial activities, I co-founded one of the very first local social networks in Sherbrooke with four friends. Active from 2008 to 2014, it brought together more than 25,000 citizens from the region.

The goal of this network, called “Plogg,” was simple but powerful: to encourage in-person encounters through cultural, sports, and leisure activities in order to strengthen the local social fabric in the digital age.

This project, ahead of its time, allowed many citizens to connect in a different way before the major international platforms took over.

When global social media took over, the network was shut down in 2014, but its community spirit remains a source of inspiration in my approach to technology: serving people and promoting community living.

I have also volunteered my time and expertise to various organizations, including Oxfam-Québec, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Axile dance company, in addition to serving on several boards of directors and organizing several fundraising events on a volunteer basis.

This commitment reflects my belief that technology and management can serve both economic development and the common good.

With three young children and several business projects underway, I hadn’t planned on running for office. It was the publication of a municipal newsletter devoted entirely to denigrating me that changed my mind.
